DTM purchased Royer Microphone
Image The Recording Studio division has purchased a Royer R-121 microphone from Vintage King Audio. "We've been wanting to add a low noise ribbon microphone for quite some time", said Philip Zanon, responsible for equipment aquisitions, "but didn't know which ones might work well for our banjo and guitar recordings." Thanks to Vintage King Audio several microphones, inlcuding the AEA-84 and Royers R-12, R-122 and R-122V could be tested live at the studio and the decision was made to purchase the R-121 for beeing the mic that worked best on various instruments.
Recording & Production Division
Double Time Music operates its own recording and production studio. The focus is set on musician friendly tracking. This requires the technology between the music and the recording should not be noticed by the musician.

Tracking

We use Radar24 in 96kHz/24bit, Monioring through a SONY DMX-R100 console. The main microphones used are U87, KM-184, TLM-103 and the R-121.

Sequencing

Sequencing is done with Steineberg's Cubase and a JV-2080 plus Symphonic Sample Libraries. This all is in sync with the Radar.

Editing

Most editing is done in Cubase and Melodyne.

Mixing

The mixing of a project is usually done on the DMX-R100 but with largers scale projects it's more a hybrid approach between conventional mixing and computer workstation mixing.

Mastering

For mastering we have a Sonic Solutions System available. For the transfer from media to Disc there are different processors inserted depending on music type.

Production Services

We offer any kind of production service from actual artist producing, arranging, orchestrating, scoring for full size symphony orchestra.
